Athletes and Their Twitters

Each NFL team has their own twitter - keeping fan up-to-date on what's happening at the training facility, upcoming games, events and past wins and charity events.

I'm deciding to focus on the social media strategies that sports team are utilizing. Sport teams have evolved from just being on television. The Twitter and Instagram accounts of the team will interact with fans, but also most of the athletes have their own social media accounts as well.

The Bronco players who have Twitters are pretty active on the site. Each showcasing their own personalities through their tweets, retweets and interactions with other players & fans.

To me, following my favorite players is a lot of fun. Demaryius Thomas enjoys tweeting a good morning tweet every morning with a lil encouragement to each. Justin Simmons live tweets a lot of basketball games and enjoys @ing Jake Butt about Lebron James. A lot of them do favorite fan tweets that showcase pictures. Their interactions mean a lot to fans, especially the younger one who look up to these players.

Not only do the players have Twitters but owners, coaches, general managers, staff, and even the mascots.

The interacts between them with each other and the fans really brings a new perspective to the sporting world. It opens new doors for fans to see these athletes as more than that - as friends, family and even fans. Fans feel closer to players and are able to share their views and pictures with their favorite players by a simple Tweet or tag in an Instagram post - and a like or favorite means the world for them.
