I'm from the small town where Dirty Dancing was filmed. Growing up I watched Nascar with my brother and dad, picking Jeff Gordon as my favorite. Friday nights were for high school football, Saturday was for college football and Sunday was NFL. After football season came basketball and then summer was dedicated to baseball and Nascar. I make sure to follow all my favorite athletes' social media accounts, as well as the team accounts. It's fun to watch them interact with fans and how the accounts help fans from other states stay in the circle. Social media has made it easier for me to keep up-to-date with my teams.

Hi! I’m a senior at Appalachian State University and plan on graduating this December. I’m majoring in Public Relations with a double minor in Marketing and English. I plan on continuing my education later on and pursuing a Master’s Degree in Sports Management. The communication Department at App has really helped boost my confidence in chasing my dream of being part of the sport’s communication world. The department is so hands on, it’s more than just tests - it’s learning practical skills that will help us succeed in the field we’re going into.
