A recent tweet from Hendrick Motorsports caught my attention, it said next week they would be releasing Spotify playlists created by their drivers. I expected myself to be interested. I want to know the type of music these drivers listen to.
You can tell a lot about a person by the type of music they listen to. I've always enjoyed watching what my friends are listening to on the sidebar of Spotify. Music is an easy way to convey your feelings or creating a playlist is an easy distraction.
Spotify means a lot to me, just because it's a place where I get to pick my music and create playlists - of course there are a lot of other places you can do the same thing but Spotify is my place. I was the first to get a car in my friend group, so I was given the title "Driver" which I decided, in the words of Dean Winchester, "Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cakehole."
I've always been curious about what my favorite players listen to. What playlist do they listen to before a game, on the way home or just at practice. But would that be a weird question to ask an athlete?
The only bits of information I have is the concerts they go to, the music that is in their Snapchat or Instagram stories, what artists they follow on social media, and the lyrics they have tattooed on themselves.
Now, I may have the ability to see their playlists which is exciting to me. Something about music makes you feel closer to a person or event - I have a playlist of all the songs that are played at Broncos games and there is something exciting when you hear a certain song and remember looking out at a field and seeing your favorite players celebrating a win.
If you ever want a playlist created for you, you know who to ask! ;)
